With the increased popularity of pickleball, the Town of Dartmouth has increased the number of pickleball courts in town with American Rescue Plan Act funds.

New pickleball courts on Slocum RoadOne location that received upgrades in the form of pickleball courts is Dartmouth Regional Park, located at the end of Harry M. Reynolds Drive. The park saw an upgrade to all of its courts including, tennis, basketball, and the new pickleball courts.

Four pickleball courts were created on Slocum Road, near Crapo Field (pictured left and above). That location was previously two, rundown basketball courts. The site is now completely repaved and has fresh lines and nets for the pickleball courts and the basketball court.

The Select Board approved the new pickleball courts at a June 2022 meeting as part of its plans for federal funding received through the American Rescue Plan Act.
