Through this project, the Town of Dartmouth will develop a master plan for the Dartmouth Council on Aging and the Maria Connor Center for Active Living. The masterplan study will evaluate how the Town of Dartmouth should make decisions for incremental future building improvements that support the vision and function of the senior center.
This is the first Master Plan that has been developed for the center. The proposed plan would explore future expansion goals, evaluate the center's current use, and address other facility improvement concerns. The master plan will assess the building condition and layout, develop a long-term strategic plan for programming, and provide prioritized scope recommendations, including associated costs.
The study associated with the master plan is expected to cost $29,000. The Master Plan is expected to be completed summer of 2024. It is funded with FY24 Capital Funds and the Mass FY24 Service Incentive Grant.
March 2024
Bruster Thornton Group Architects, who are drafting the master plan, met with stakeholders at the COA to discuss ideal uses for the building, programing, building needs and deficiencies, current lay out of the COA buildings, and ideas for the future.
At this meeting, Bruster Thornton presented concept sketches and received feedback from stakeholder groups.
May 2024
The COA put out a survey to determine what people who interact with the COA what to see.
